Developing and publishing homebrew for classic gaming consoles

My Software Engineering journey began in the early 2000s. The thought of developing video games was the catalyst that pushed me to learn how to program.

My initial venture into Game Development was relatively early and began on PC. I later adopted Allegro and SDL libraries followed by APIs including OpenGL and DirectX. I experimented by working on various projects including Tile Engines, Raycasting, 3D, tooling, remaking classic games, and various demos.

Contrary to my initial interests, my professional career began in completing a two year contract developing planetary research tools and databases at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. From Planetary Science I ventured into developing applications and services for Life Science, ecommerce, media, and manufacturing.

My 18+ year engineering stint has granted me the privilege to contribute towards the development and support of many products while meeting amazing people along the way. However, I never forgot about my early development passion - video games.

With many platform and technology options to choose from in today's landscape, I have decided to target gaming consoles that are most nostalgic to me. Zyzix Games is now a new chapter in my software engineering journey. Each project in this space will be a love letter to classic gaming and to those whom enjoy it.
